[A few minutes later, he uncovers the camera and starts a new message, spoken this time.]

Alexis Rodgers has been sent home. At least I assume as much--no one has seen her and her flat is empty. It's good. She was very homesick, and...

[A pause. There's nothing really to say after that. He doesn't sound greatly distressed, but there's definitely a certain melancholy.

He'll be at the library this afternoon, and Good Spirits tonight. Missing Dawn, mostly. He'll occasionally walk through the item shop, killing time looking for little gifts to pick up for her. At some point, he'll go see Ingrid in the clinic. In the evening, he'll pay a visit to Jack Sparrow's house on the beach. He's there to see Horatio, of course.]

[He gets this every so often, and doesn't get into the "English mother" and "in the service longer than I was ever in Scotland" spiel unless asked, though really, he never had the accent even as a child.]

[...Oh, well. Fine. He does so, not connecting it with his friend who, you know, got sent home a couple months back. It is, indeed, a pretty perfect accent. As far as talents go, this one may have limited uses, but at least he's got it. Though since it sounds like a real Scottish brogue from the 1700's, it probably doesn't sound very much like Scotty from the original series.]

[... well it's Scottish alright, but it's definitely not Scottie.]

[Oh come on, man. His one talent that doesn't involve killing people. No wait--those are skills. Then, his one talent.]

You might want to keep in mind I've heard Scotsmen from the future, and they don't sound quite the same.

Yeah, I noticed. I should have got Scottie to do it while he was still here.

[But then it was just cool enough to actually be in his class and listen to him talk like Scottie, even if it all went over his head.]

I met him. I don't know anything about Star Trek, I'm afraid. If it helps you to know, I'm from eighteen hundred and two.

Ah, yeah, I'd kind of got that vibe, man. I'm from twenty-oh-three. Though I guess by now it would be oh-four, huh?

I don't think it quite works that way. I was here four months before a friend of mine came here from 1805.

Well yeah, I totally get how it works, man. I just meant for me, yeah?

...Yes, I see. The same way I'm twenty-six while I was twenty-five when I arrived.

Exactly! And I'm eighteen now. If I just say I'm that and the year I'm from, they'd totally get the wrong idea for what year I was born in. [Not that this matters... but somehow time not moving at home is an uncomfortable idea, even if it IS under threat of an extremely powerful mutant.]
