Twenty-three bells: [WRITTEN/ACTION]

This is Mr. Kennedy. The Britannia, Luceti's new sloop of war under command of Captain Hornblower, is finished and for all purposes ready to sail. Unfortunately, as she cannot sail herself, Captain Hornblower is in need of a crew.

Not many are required simply to sail her. A half dozen at least, although we should prefer more. We do not expect exclusivity--in Luceti, there is no point. If you are already part of another crew, you are welcome to remain a part of that crew and sail with us as well. As the winter months are approaching, we are not likely to weigh anchor for some time, so there will be plenty of time to train recruits who have no sailing experience.

I think a few of us from the Dark Ages are going to host a ball during Advent. I know it's best to have that sort of thing during Christmas, but it would collide with experiments and new feathers. So. A Christmas ball before Christmas. What would you think of that?

He'll go non-verbal. [ the name isn't needed. archie's words and that realization is enough to seal the deal. ] Alright. You've got it. Austenify me.

[You've got an excited sailor on your hands, Buffy.] It's settled, then, and quite the appropriate trade.

[ aha. dawn's party.

she nods. ] Very fair.

You'll be the very handsomest woman there. Which, in Luceti, is saying a great deal.

[ a legitimate blush. genuine compliments always cut buffy to the quick; she never feels wholly worthy of them. it's hard enough to take jack's ardent comments. this one takes her by surprise. ]

Shh. There'll be others. With prettier shapes and grace that comes from somewhere other than martial arts training.

Nonsense. Possibly Miss Ginia could come close, but never close enough to outshine.
