Twenty-one Bells: [ACTION/VOICE]

[Archie has barely been around town lately, but he does appear in town this afternoon, dashing about to various shops and stores and picking up various one-use items and lots and lots of groceries. He seems to have one thing on his mind.

Later, he'll sit at the fountain and send out the voice message:]

This is Mr. Kennedy. If anyone is in need of me, I shall be at the beach house for most of the week. You can reach me there or on the journals.

Moreover, Mr. Hornblower and I are wondering if anyone would be interested in helping to build a ship. A sloop-of-war, to be specific, with room and ports enough for eighteen or twenty-two guns. I cannot claim we have a practical use for itm besides exploration, but it would be something to do. We have the plans drawn up, and all we need is enough hands to make it possible. We would be grateful for any help at all.

[After this, he'll be walking back to the beach house, where he's been babysitting Jack Sparrow since yesterday.]

Oi, if you need any assistance building a ship, I could help out. [And just make everything super, but that's a given.]

Franky - and hah! Of course, I can help! It wouldn't be the first ship I've built.

Franky. [This needs repeating because being called 'sir' just feels weird. Bro or boss or whatever would be fine, but... yeah. Sir sounds way too formal.]

Tch. Of course, I've worked in a shipyard! [He was never with the Galley-La company, but he was too good for them, anyway. Still, he worked with them while building Thousand Sunny, so it's all good.]

Thank the Lord. [Someone who knows what's going on.] I'm afraid Mr. Hornblower and I only command the ships. We've never built one.

You were planning on building a ship without an actual shipwright? [Shit, reminds him of when the Strawhats wanted to repair Going Merry. He doesn't even want to think of how that would go if they tried to build a ship without a shipwright.]

Good thing I'm here, then.

One makes do with what one has, sir. But Mr. Hornblower made post-captain, back home, before he came here. He's a bit impatient for a command, as you can understand.

[Yeah, yeah, that's great or something.]

Doesn't matter to me if he's a captain, I've already got one. [And he's sticking with him.] But yeah, I can still help you out with getting something built.

[It'll give him something to do, if nothing else. It's pretty damn easy to get restless in this place.]

[Sigh, nobody respects the uniform anymore. I've already got a captain, so this chap here who worked his arse off since he was seventeen doesn't matter at all.]

I do thank you, sir. As you seem to be the expert, here, perhaps it is you who should be giving the orders while we build. Would you like to see the plans?

[Damn right that other guy doesn't really matter at all.]

Sounds super! It'd probably be wise for me to see the plans, anyway, in case there's something I'd need to correct or fix.

They are... [He makes a rough sketch from memory. It's definitely a ship built for speed, with three masts and all kinds of sail for her size. It's a sound enough design, for its time, but not groundbreaking or anything.] If you'd like to see the proper plans, I'll have to meet you in person.

[It's a decent sketch, in that it actually shows what they want done. Okay, so they want something built for speed. Franky can handle that. Though, he could probably make some adjustments so it can be more super, but...]

It'll probably be best if I see it in person. Where can I find you?

I can come to the fountain quickly enough.

Oh yeah? I'll meet you there, then. [And soon enough, he'll be waiting by the fountain.]

[Archie will approach, looking poised as normal.]

F-Franky?

[Having no other name to use, it feels really strange to say.]

Yo! [Franky grins and offers Archie a wave.] So you're the guy that needs help with his ship, eh?

None other. [A polite nod.] Mr. Kennedy, if you will. [He'll tap the papers against the ball of one thumb, just a sign of mild nervousness rather than impatience. He's somewhat particular about who he's on first-name basis with.]

Got it. [Franky doesn't really care whether or not he knows his first name - he'll come up with some annoying nickname soon enough.]

Anyway, if those are the plans [he gestures towards the papers Archie is holding] we should start going over them.

[Archie sits at the fountain and passes over the papers.] Tell me what you think, and how many we'll need to build it.

[Franky takes the papers and spends a few minutes going over them. They look decent enough, and it's clear they put effort into it. Not bad for someone who's never built a ship before.]

It looks good, but if you want it to go super fast, you should think about having it be cola-powered. [Yup :|]

The wind will be fine, sir.

[... Well, that's just boring! But whatever, it's not Franky's ship, so he'll go with it.]

Right, well, if I was working on my own I could probably build something like this in a couple of weeks. [No, he isn't kidding.] But with my help along with a few other people that know what they're doing, we could cut that time down to maybe a week.
