Eight Bells: [Action/Written]

[Luceti, Jack Sparrow now has drapes. They are lovely drapes, made of something like spiderweb silk and dyed a nice, neutral, manlyish color. The furniture and silver are both polished. There is even a new rug on the living room floor. Everything looks very home-ish.

Jack's clothes, on the other hand, are strewn all over the place, and every drop of dairy is badly curdled. Missing is a pair of trousers and Jack's Jolly Roger t-shirt.

Archie Kennedy comes dashing into town from the Cullen House wearing a pair of trousers and a Jolly Roger t-shirt. He'll make his way as quickly as is possible to his own apartment to get dressed properly so no one will suspect he spent the week with Jack--least of all Jack. He can be run into at any point.

After all this is accomplished and he's eaten something at Seventh Heaven that does not include porridge, honey, or cream, he will sit down to write this note.]

May I speak with a tailor in this town?

Well? Go and...get changed again and I'll tell him I took them or something.

[ she makes it sound rather casual but she has a surprisingly tough time lying to sparrow; however, she will guard archie's secret as best as she can. ]

He can't know, Buffy. If he knows, he'll never let me forget it. I'll be his housewife for the rest of our lives.

Somehow, I don't quite think you're his type when it comes to housewives -- but I got your back, Kennedy. Don't make me regret it.

[ she's actually quite happy to help but can't seem to let it go without some kind of a threat. it's a whole buffy thing. ]

[He's starting to get that. With a grateful smile, he ducks into his room to change. By the time he emerges, he looks more or less himself again, hair tied back properly, carrying a lump of Jack's clothes.]

At least I laundered them yesterday. [He tosses them to her.]

[ after catching them, she begins to tidily fold both trousers and shirt. ]

You were really out there the whole week?

[A deep breath, heaved out as a sigh.] I was. The entire week.

Yikes. At least it's just the right place to hide out and avoid almost everyone from.

Yes, it is. I'm fairly certain no one would have taken me seriously again if they'd known.

[Except Jilly. And, apparently, that weird little Robert fellow.]

I wish I could go back in time and somehow manage to get the heck out of this village at the first sign of being a robot.

I suppose there are worse things than making drapes all week.

[ because she's not keen to into just why the buffybot was traumatic. ]

Spider's silk. I dyed them with onions. I didn't know how to do any of this before.

I take it back. You sound like the perfect housewife. When can you start on mine?

[ and here endeth the only time buffy shall razz on archie for this. what? she had to get one in. ]

You made drapes? I had to have a giant turtle computer whiz re-program me on the fly. [ which would not have happened without jack's intervention. ] We all had a tough week.

Well. It's over, at least, and it could have been worse.

[He considers a moment.] Would you like tea?

I don't suppose I could upgrade to a diet coke, could I?

[ she's still holding on to jack's things. ] Tea'll do just fine.

I don't think I have any of that. I wanted to ask you something. Just wait here a moment and I'll be back with the tea.

Sure. I'll just -- I'll grab a seat, make myself at home.

[ she does this. ]

[He returns from the kitchen a few minutes later with two cups of tea, still steeping with the teabags in them. He sets one down in front of her on the coffee table, then sets his own down beside it.] Do you take sugar?

[He is not offering cream. He refuses to look at cream.]

Lots of it, please.

[ she will miss the cream. ;_; ]

[When he returns with the sugar cubes, he sets them beside her so she can add as many as she likes.] Very nice to have, bags of tea.

[ and add she does. ]

...They are? [ she figures there's always been tea bags. ]

Very nice indeed. Makes it all much more convenient. [He sits down on the couch and picks up his own cup, taking a careful sip.]
