Eight Bells: [Action/Written]

[Luceti, Jack Sparrow now has drapes. They are lovely drapes, made of something like spiderweb silk and dyed a nice, neutral, manlyish color. The furniture and silver are both polished. There is even a new rug on the living room floor. Everything looks very home-ish.

Jack's clothes, on the other hand, are strewn all over the place, and every drop of dairy is badly curdled. Missing is a pair of trousers and Jack's Jolly Roger t-shirt.

Archie Kennedy comes dashing into town from the Cullen House wearing a pair of trousers and a Jolly Roger t-shirt. He'll make his way as quickly as is possible to his own apartment to get dressed properly so no one will suspect he spent the week with Jack--least of all Jack. He can be run into at any point.

After all this is accomplished and he's eaten something at Seventh Heaven that does not include porridge, honey, or cream, he will sit down to write this note.]

Archie, why are you wearing Jack's clothes?

[ not only did she once drag the pirate shopping, but she's known him too long not to become at the very least passingly familiar with his wardrobe. ]

[He glances around in a bit of a panic, hoping the pirate isn't around somewhere. In fact, if Dawn is around, that would also be bad, because he spent the week hoping Dawn wouldn't find out he'd turned into an ugly, seven-inch-tall faerie.]

Er. Can I explain somewhere else?

[ a sigh, but she's sympathetic: ] Your place?

[He nods, already starting off in that direction.] Quickly, before he sees.

[ tucking a strand of hair behind her ears and lagging a bit behind archie. ] Oh? He's -- uhm -- in town?

Not when I left, but you never know.

[Walking very quickly, very quickly.]

It depends on how angry he is.

Oh. God, uhm...why? What happened?

[ she finally bothers to catch up -- having no hard time keeping up the pace. ]

The experiment this week.

And he's angry? [ she's gonna be a little self-centered for a moment. ] It's not like I could help it. It's not like I was even me. Not really.

[He stops suddenly and gives her a blank look.]

[ and she doesn't stop for a few more steps, turning back and...crap. ]

We're not talking about me being a robot for most of the last week, are we? Huh. Never mind, then. Carry on.

A robot? [Elicia explained those to him.] I didn't see a robot anywhere.

It looked exactly like me. You'd never know unless you talked to-- [ off topic. ] What's wrong with Jack?

Nothing's wrong with Jack. It seems I may have stolen some of his clothes and curdled all his milk, and I may wish to get out of his clothes before he realizes I was the one who did it.

The milk-curdling's over my head but I'll at least take the clothes off your hands for you. [ her motives. they may be ulterior. ]

He can't know who had them. Buffy, this is very important.

[Because if Jack knows it was Archie who spent the week making curtains and cleaning house, Archie will never live it down.]

Just...let's get you home and you can give them to me and you're secret's beyond safe. Deal?

Agreed. [Archie starts walking again with a nervous glance behind his back.]

Calm down. You'll give yourself a heart-attack being so jumpy.

If he finds out, he'll never let me forget. [He pushes the door to C1 open.] And neither will you, I suspect, but you I can survive, though it might be best if Dawn didn't find out. [He opens the door to his apartment and holds it for her.]

[ buffy walks inside. ]

I don't even know what I'm never going to let you forget except for the part where you marauded his wardrobe. And that doesn't exactly seem too hassle-worthy on its own.

[ she figures there's a larger story at work. she's just not sure she wants to know. ]

[He closes the door behind her and listens to make sure no one followed. Then he leans against it.]

I spent the week half a foot tall and cleaning everything in sight. Do you know what a brownie is?

You mean, beside being a delicious chocolatey treat best smothered in frosting?

Not that kind of brownie. The little goblin that cleans things if you leave it little gifts.
