Three Bells: [WRITTEN] - New Horizons in Lit Appreciation

They have everything Shakespeare ever wrote in the library.  Everything!  It's a fountain of gold.  I could spend days here.  I'd sleep here if they'd let me.  I don't think I've ever been happier.  And there's no theatre group here?  None?  Do people here not realize what they have?  What kind of a world is this?

In case anyone asks, I'll be in the library for the rest of my life.

[Or really just the rest of the day.   At some point he'll have to come up for air and grab something to eat at the 7th Heaven, where he'll be buried in 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea.  It'll be dark before he goes home, carrying only a single book.]

Sounds like a demon, doesn't he? Well, that was what I had to deal with on a daily basis back home. [ he might have even scared a few kids when drunk one time. it's a good thing he never got reprimanded for that. ]

[Another noncommittal noise, and Archie takes a big gulp of whiskey.] We'll have to discuss this more later. For now, I just spent a lot of the day catching up on history and I still keep knocking into things with my wings.

[He pauses as something suddenly occurs to him.] When I was up in the tree, could I have just spread the damn things and jumped out?

As far as I know, you can only levitate with these things. I've never tried myself and I'm not in a hurry to throw myself off something at a great height.

Oh, I can only imagine what it must be like to fly. I think I liked going up to the fighting top because it felt a little like it. Kept trying to convince Horatio of it, but he was the same as you.

Nothing good comes from flying, kid. I should know. Hell, I can write the book on the subject. And the fact they have the nerve to stick these wings on my back... [ he trails off into an agitated a little huff. the wings still bothered him. ]

I hate flying. And heights. And transporters.

I jumped off a cliff recently, so I can't say. [He glances behind and stretches his wings out, wondering if they would have made a difference.]

Enjoying a nice, cool mint julep on a hot summer day is fun. Having people listen to you when you're trying to treat them can be fun too. What you just described to me? I wouldn't call that fun.
