[Archie is going to head into All Passions today, in desperate need of a dress uniform. When things are slow at work tonight, he'll speak a message.]

Is there anyone in the village who could perform a wedding? A priest or other official? I'm...getting married.

It is less connected to breeding and more connected to mannerisms and behavior in my time, yes.

It's not used as often as it once was, even in this context. Most in Paris simply say that a man is fairly mannered...which typically means he is less likely to sleep with your wife or daughter without first taking them to dinner.
